8:30 Race Registration
Bake sale opens: coffee, drinks, donuts and cookies inside church
9:00
5K race  (Complete Details, Photos of the course and Past Results)
  • Starting 9:00 (Registration 8:30-8:55), Fee: $8 ($5 youth)
  • Shady loop on the dirt roads of Westminster West
  • Age divisions: 13-17 (youth), 18-39, 40-59, 60 up; men & women
  • Prizes for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd in each division
  • Prizes include Grafton Village Cheese, Sidelands Sugarbush maple syrup pints & quarts, Green Mountain Orchard apples, Putney Coop certificates, and Timely Solution sling-a-drinks.
9:00 Silent Auction opens - inside church (downstairs)
Golden Elephant Sale opens - in the Old Town Hall
Local Art Exhibit opens - in the church sanctuary (upstairs)
10:00 Parade preparation at the Westminster West School:
     Bicycle Decoration and Drumming Rehearsal
10:30 Parade from the school down to the library
11:00

Musical entertainment by the Grafton Cornet Band, southern Vermont's oldest continuous band.

11:00 Book signing of the new town history, Westminster Vermont 1735-2000 - Township Number One, by author Jessie Haas. (Hardcover copies are $39.99.)
11:30 Lunch! Serving of BBQ and other meals begins
     Complete meals: Chicken BBQ ($8.50), hot dog, vegetarian ($6.00)/td>
11:30 Kids' fun race (for children up to 12) Prizes include movie passes to the New Falls Cinema, Reel to Reel video rentals, miniature golf at Hidden Acres Campground and ribbons
12:00-12:30 Kids' entertainment: "Bubble Magic" with Rob Mermin of Circus Smirkus
1:00 Vegetable Contest Judging
  • longest zucchini and heaviest tomato
  • Vegetable Sculpture (dress up a vegetable or do anything creative and legal)
  • Artistic Flower arrangements
12:30-2:00 Face Painting

This fair is sponsored by the Congregational Church of Westminster West. Proceeds fund the community newsletter, the West Parish Whistler, and support the community use of the church building.

Community Members!
Bring items for the Silent Auction and Golden Elephant Sale to the Church. There will be someone there every evening 6:00-8:00 during the final week before the Fair. If you have a service you would like to include in the silent auction, let Bev know or email Charlotte (below).
